Year 9 Options Drop-in Service
Mr Hulme and Mr Kingman will be providing a drop-in service for any Year 9 students wishing to discuss their options.
Please feel free to come along after school, on Wednesday 17th or Wednesday 24th March, between 3.15pm and 4.15pm - parents are very welcome.
Fame- the final countdown
Ex-Ysgol John Bright student Chris Keady made a welcome return to his old school, bringing his talents to the forthcoming production of ‘FAME The Musical’.Chris is currently studying Art at Lancaster University, and returned to YJB for a week of work experience, painting for this commission.
Chris has created a New York backstreet landscape on a series of huge canvases for use in the school production. Fortunately, he has just returned from a research trip to New York as part of his degree and so was able to make some first hand sketches!
Chris’s art work can be seen onstage at Venue Cymru in ‘FAME The Musical’ on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th March. Tickets are available now from the Venue Cymru box office.

The Ysgol John Bright Skills day is scheduled for Thursday 18th March.
This is a day where students have a break from their normal timetable to broaden their skills with a series of fun activities. Skills Day is held within normal school hours.
Haiti Earthquake Appeal
On 12th January 2010, a devastating earthquake struck Haiti, killing an estimated 230,000 people and affecting millions.
To raise money and help the Haitian people rebuild their lives and communities, the school has scheduled a non-uniform day for Friday 19th March (more details to follow).
Proceeds from this event will also be donated to Sport Relief to help transform the lives of poor and vulnerable people, both at home and across the world’s poorest countries.
The school played host on Friday to the Parliamentary Candidates for the constituency of Aberconwy.
Guto Bebb (Conservative), Phil Edwards (Plaid Cymru), Ronnie Hughes (Labour) and Mike Priestley (Liberal Democrat) spent the afternoon discussing local and national issues with students, which included a question an answer session with the sixth form.
